Iconic Lab-Grown Gemstones

The chameleon of gemstones. Mined alexandrite is known for its remarkable color-changing properties, displaying hues of green in daylight and shifting to a purplish-red under incandescent light.

Alexandrite became Carroll Lujor’s third lab-grown gemstone, making its debut in 1972. These lab-grown alexandrites possess the same chemical composition, optical properties and color-changing characteristics as their mined counterparts, exhibiting vibrant color shifts under varying light sources. Lujor lab-grown alexandrites are highly regarded for their quality, durability and responsible sourcing. They offer a more affordable alternative to mined alexandrite while maintaining the allure and beauty associated with this rare gemstone.

Lab-Grown Sapphire

Carroll Lujor’s first blue sapphire was grown in 1975. His original production grew from the seed crystal of a Ceylon sapphire, known for their magnificent hue.

Blue sapphire is the most difficult gem crystal that Lujor grows. Color in sapphire often follows the crystal structure in color zones. Even the best sapphire crystal has different shades of blue in it. That’s why Lujor lab-grown sapphires come in three lovely shades of blue, not just one.

Lujor lab-grown blue sapphire is one of Lujor’s bestselling colors. Maybe that’s because blue is America’s favorite color, making it a popular choice for those seeking high-quality and responsibly sourced gemstones.

The Lujor Standard
